Coffee is borne by belief.
This sweet little café is run by the husband and wife team of Klaus and Lena Hierer. The bright and simple décor is especially welcoming when coming in from the summer showers outside. The brunch-style food by Lena is straightforward, fresh and delicious — from panini to pancakes, all made to order.
Klaus mans the front of house, and it’s great fun chatting with a fellow coffee geek, especially one as exuberant as this young German. The way his eyes light up as we discuss different brewing methods is infectious. Thanks to him, we discover where to finally get a Karlsbader Kanne (at his beans supplier, Supremo — but more on this in a later post).
Munich is a haven for good beer and when the locals drink coffee, it tends to be classic Italian espressos. Who knew there would be such a small yet dynamic community of specialty coffee lovers like Klaus paving the way for better brews though? Bravo!

Klaus advised us to go to the HQ of SUPREMO Kaffeerösterei, his beans supplier. But that is another story. Watch out for it! 😉
Haha, sure thing. Once Devil CK is back from the Netherlands, we’ll start brewing with the Karlsbader Kanne again. 😉
then CK…..U FASTER COME BACK!!! hahaha
Soon soon….Hahahaha.
Your wish is our command! 😉
love the first and last photos … the first one with the contrast of the blue walls and the red flowers, and the last one with the cutie dog 😀
oh, the pancakes look delicious too … thick and home-made, with big berries on top! 😀
Thanks Mr. Rabbit! Both the pancakes and coffee were great, and the barista was very friendly too. 😀
Their pug is so adorable!
